I liked the story but the typos were never ending. I would have appreciated a bit more character development and simpler writing. Stop over explaining and use that space to expand the characters.Product details

THE ALORIAN WARS VOLUME ONE BOOKS 13 eBook Drew Avera Deanne Charlton Reviews
I'm not sure what to say about these books. On one hand, when there were action episodes, they were pretty interesting. On the other hand, Avera got (in my opinion) too caught up in the thought processes of the characters. So, on balance, I don't believe I will purchase the next in the series.
Ugh. If you like non-stop exposition and reflection on characters' conflicted thoughts and feelings with as many adjectives as possible then this series is for you. If you actually want to follow a plot pick up anything else. One star only because for the wildly rare action scene does occur those parts are decently written. Author hint write 10 times as many action pages and 1/10th of the thought description pages.
The first two books were fast paced and developed the characters into interesting heroes. The third was a little murkier, trying to tie the two together. Still, liked the characters and there was room for further (hopefully) plot lines.
As an ARC reader I cannot wait to start Book #4. This was extremely well written - especially with the background and foundation as only a Navel Veteran would understand as it transferred seamlessly into a future that is all too reminiscent of the here and now. You won't want to miss this one.
Thank you Drew!
I purchased this book based on the 'auto' recommendations, and I am sincerely glad that I did. As I was reading, the story is compelling enough that I ended up staying up late to keep reading and I haven't done that in years. The story is well developed, as are the characters. A certain amount of liberty is taken with regards to physics, but this is Science Fiction not a treatise on quantum mechanics.
A good read, can't wait to see if there is more to the story.
DA has written a combination if 3 SyFy Novel about a young officer and a young Marine who are on opposite sides of a galactic war. The officer is on the winning side, but becomes disillusioned when his people begin to kill without reason. The Marine and he eventually join forces to determine whether the tide can be reversed. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
Would have given 3.5 to 4 stars but starting around chapter 16 the editing and misspellings became to frequent to overlook. It became distracting
I liked the story but the typos were never ending. I would have appreciated a bit more character development and simpler writing. Stop over explaining and use that space to expand the characters.
